Workshops

Interested in taking a class or a workshop to learn more about abstract painting?  I am offering two types of classes.  The first format is a one-day, three-hour introduction to abstraction. The second is a three-day workshop for artists interested in pushing themselves further; those who want to work bolder or larger and want to learn to let go of perfectionism.

There are usually no dates for these workshops, I can do them anytime... you make the group and I will teach it!

BUT, I am offering BOTH workshops in October, 2022!

Single Day Workshop

(Holiday Monday)

Limited to 10 students.

This day will run from 10am-1:30pm with a 30 minute lunch break (bring your lunch!).  This important time will let us chat about how the day is going and let the paint dry before we keep working.

If those dates don't work... YOU MAKE A GROUP and I WILL TEACH IT!

In the single day workshop you will work on 12" canvas boards and learn to respect your own intuition as you watch the paint move.  Feel like a kindergartner again!  All supplies included.

Sign up by emailing me at anne@annebedrick.com with your interest.

“Anne has a very pleasant and easy teaching presence.  She is encouraging and her individual attention was well divided.”

“The demos and explanations were well thought out and Anne created a good safe place to explore.”

“Anne has a succinct and embracing teaching style that encourages our own decision making.  She introduced us to the personality of this media and encouraged us to stay loose and not get lost in the details.  Thanks Anne!”

“I learned a lot about composition and mixing color and also gained some confidence to create.

"Anne helped me to learn about balance, values, and moving the eye around a piece.  I also learned how to mix colors to match the ones I had mixed before.  This class was a perfect mix of demonstrations, discussions, critiques, work time, and one on one attention. Anne is a wonderful teacher!”

“One of the best workshops that I have been to; low key and full of meaningful information.  Anne’s Demonstrations were just right – not too long winded.  She gave the right amount of information – much more and it would have been difficult to synthesize it.  During our individual work time, Anne never hovered but was always around and helpful.”

“Thanks, Anne for a great workshop!  It was the perfect length for gaining the necessary information; a good intro to several ways to approach abstraction.  The demos were good and a good length.  Anne left us plenty of time to work on our own, incorporating a nice combo of demo and critiques.  Anne constantly rotated through the students giving personal feedback while encouraging individual styles.”

“What a pleasure!  The class was well organized.  For me it was a little scary at first, but Anne was so encouraging that I can’t wait to do more at home.  I learned more about painting abstractly and what makes a great piece as well as how to harmonize my colors.  The demonstrations were just right and included a bit of history.  The individual attention was very generous.  Thanks!”
