Night

I painted this series as the election for the 47th president approached.  The first piece was the Two Sides of Hope, examining the twin feelings of hope for the future and fear of it.

The first painting post election was cathartic, painting black over black over black, a self soothing and mourning.  The surface is very rich and varied.

The subsequent paintings became more apocalyptic with only glimmers of hope that there was still a future for goodness.
